|| Record-breaking early end to harvest
The sun rises on a final day of harvest. Finishing harvest on the second day of September was a record no-one could recall beating, certainly not in recent years, and it seemed strange to put the combine away for the season when the nights were still so long. No complaints from the farmer though, as sowing next year's crops was soon underway in a bid to keep ahead of the game.
